Black Spinel Ring

This is my latest stash from local homegrown jeweller, Tianpo Jewellery.

It is a 18k white gold ring set with 8 facetted spinel.

Nearly overlooked this ring which was on sale, because, the sales person, who was a newbie, introduced it as a oynx ring, which I would not really buy!

It was only when I was at the counter looking at another design which was too small for me, and could not be resized that his colleague mentioned that the ring was set with spinel!

And that was it, I bought the ring!

Stash from Singapore International Jewellery Show 2009: Moonstone Ring

I do not normally wear rings with cabochons in them as they are kinda too "retro" looking for me...

But this piece really caught my eye when I was at the show!

I like the modern design of the setting, coupled with a good quality moonstone in setting which appears to be part of the ring contour.

Look at the beautiful blue sheen!

It's set in 925 silver, which means, I should get this plated soon..

Fancy White Diamond Ring

You are not wrong if you mind this particular ring design a tad bit too familliar!

Well... this ring is actually modified from my old ruby ring that I featured some time ago.
As the band was too thin and the ruby too feminine, the ring had a makeover...

And it now has a fancy white diamond as well as thicker band, which makes it look like a stacked ring!

DIY 'Resize'

I am quite pleased with myself as I managed to 'resize' the ring I got from the Metropolitian Museum of Art.

It was a tad too tight initially...

So with the aid of a pair of pliers, jewellery polishing cloth, I managed to stretch the ring just a wee bit so that it could accommodate my fingers.

Mystery Ring unveiled!

Alright...

It really is time to break the mystery behind what's on my ring:

The central stone is a rough sapphire crystal that has been just polished to show its inner beauty...

And this is further accentuated with two little yellow diamonds on the side..

I think this piece is an interesting mixture of both rough and facetted stones!

Arty Stash

My newest stash of the day comes from The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York!

Walked past the store today, and was attracted by the large words "Moving Out Sale"! It turns out that all Singapore outlets of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art New York will be closed soon with tomorrow, Wednesday 15/07/2009, the last day to grab some last minute deals!

I actually bought all these:

A pair of sterling silver spiral cufflinks with Javanese inspired designs!

A sterling silver Viking ring (this really looks like a tension ring setting at first glance)

and a pair of Apollo intaglio ear rings!You might be thinking.. that's strange.. why ear rings... truth is.. I will be turning this pair of ear rings into something else.. so stay tuned!

The '7 sins' Diamond Ring

Why seven sins?

Well.. cos there 7 brilliant cut diamonds in this particular piece...

3 on the side flanks.. and one central brillant which is abt 30 pointers!

A simple, ever green design, that I do wear occassionally!

'Heart' shaped diamond ring?

From far, this looks like a facetted heart shape diamond ring...

Except, when you get a closer look.. you actually realise that it is 3 brilliant cut diamond put together to resemble a heart..

Interesting design made me get this piece...

A seldom worn ring basks in the limelight..

This is one of the diamond rings that I seldom wear.. it has been sitting in my box for quite some time necause I felt that there was too much bling in the form of diamonds around it..

Just recently I decided to wear it recently:

and was quite surprised to get comments that it was a nice ring...

Ruby Ring in need of make over..

Got this ruby ring on an impulse buy...

I like the design of the band.. with that celtic band feel...

But somehow or rather, I just feel weird with rubies, or perhaps stones that colour...

Hope the ring can get a makeover soon....

I just learnt that stainless steel does look good with diamonds..

Got this ring with 5 diamonds set in stainless steel!

They sparkle very well against the greyish black stainless steel setting!
