New pens!

It has really been a long time since I last spent on pens...

Bought these two Platinum brand pens today. I guess this is my first venture into maki e pens.
For the uninitiated, maki e referes to is Japanese lacquer sprinkled with gold or silver powder as a decoration using a makizutsu or a kebo brush.

Closer pictures: this one shows Japanese cranes, in a typical Japanese style

Whereas the other shows a painting of a dragon...

Fisher Space Pen

Whoppe...

Got a phone call from Fook Hing Trading to inform me that they would a 1 to 1 exchange for my faulty Fisher Space Pen.

I am indeed very touched and pleased by their gesture. This is indeed a far difference from the 1 over month I had to wait for when my Montblanc Marlene Dietrich pen was sent for repair after the sapphire dropped off!

Sometimes, as consumers, we can't use the price of a pen to gauge the level of service we ought to receive.

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Fook Hing Trading and Fisher Space Pens!

For others who would like to try The Fisher Space Pens, visit their site.
You can get them at Fook Hing Trading which is located at Blk 231 Bain Street, #01 – 23 Bras Basah Complex, Singapore 180231!

Fisher Space Pen Cracked - II

Alright, managed to get a reply from our local pen distributor!

And they have informed me to send in the pen back while they contact the manufacturer.

Really wonder what is going to happen next.

Fisher Space Pen Cracked

Gosh..

Just realised a crack on my fisher space pen?

Wasn't it supposed to be made of brass and coated with chromium?

Wonder if this is the quality of pen the company is making.

I contacted the manufacturer and they told me to contact our local distributor, Fook Hing, which is in Bras Brasah.

So let's see what solution they will offer to me.

Montblanc problems

Think the brand 'Montblanc' is really named after a mountain for the right reasons!

Look at the mountain of problems it has given me..

First the greenish rust like stuff appearing on the platinum plated clip..
Then the sapphire dropped out last year..

Sent it for repair and it came back in January!

When I took it out again recently:

The tarnish is back!!! I really wonder how a brand that is well known for its pens can afford such shoddy work!

Marlene Dietrich is back...

Not the person.. but rather my Montblanc pen of which the sapphire dropped out...

I collected the pen today from the botique and I feel so glad that it took less then 3 months as what they had initially claimed...

And its looking as good as new... with a new sparkling blue sapphire!

Montblanc update

My Montblanc Marlene Dietrich Roller Ball Pen is on its way back to Hamburg in Germany to get repaired after its sapphire dropped out!

I popped by the boutique to enquire on the status of the product as there was no updates from Montblanc for at least 2 weeks. The staff were friendly enough to call their HQ and find out the status for me and I was told that as their HQ staff were very very busy, they did not have time to call me...

Thus, I will have to wait for 3 months before my Montblanc pen actually arrives back to me. I wonder if they know that companies like FedEx and UPS exists. If it really requires 3 months to be repaired, they should really have plenty of repair jobs to be done there... so does that mean that there are a lot of defective goods?

I guess I am really going to stay off this brand for some time!

Another Book from Montblanc

Bought my damaged Montblanc Marlene Dietrich pen, which had its missing sapphire, back to the Montblanc Botique..

The outlet staff handled the matter well and immediately took action by sending the pen and the warranty card to their local office for analysis.

Was also told that the repairs if done locally, would take about 3 weeks. If done back in Montblanc Germany, it could take 3 months or even 4 months...

I am so glad, I do have other pens to use in the mean time..

Anyway, the staff gave me a book about the watch collection from Montblanc:

Interesting pictorial book.. but at this point of time, I shall not think of whether to get a Montblanc watch, lest I end up with dropping/faulty parts again!

Montblanc missing sapphire!

I got a shock of my life when I took out my Montblanc Marlene Dietrich pen from my pocket today!

A missing sapphire, the setting of the blue sapphire on the clip of the pen appears to have been merely pasted on.

For a pen, that I have not been using that frequently, I am rather dismayed by the fact that such high end pens would be of such a quality. Looking at the warranty that came with it, I just bought the pen in October, and it is barely even 2 months and such a thing happened!

I wonder how Montblanc will actually be looking into this matter!

Stay tuned for updates!

Astronaut Space Pen

Got this Astronaut Space Pen recently!

Made by Fisher, its pen cartridge is made under pressure with a tungsten carbide tip, and therefore, according to the manufacturers, it is able to write under any conditions, which was probably the reason why it is marketed as a space pen!In terms of aesthetic design, this pen comes with the words Apollo 11 on it, to commemorate the use of such pens on the space ship!

Montblanc Marlene Dietrich Ballpoint Pen

Just got this pen today...

It's by Montblanc, part of the Marlene Dietrich collection.

Ballpoint pen with twist mechanism, barrel made of black precious resin inlaid with Montblanc signet and mother-of-pearl inlay, platinum-plated rings and clip set with a deep blue sapphire

Been loving such pens that feature nice natural gem stones. This one is unique, as it features both Mother of Pearl and a sapphire!

MontBlanc Floating Diamond Pen

I got another MontBlanc Floating Diamond Pen again today!

This one is very different from the 100 years of MontBlanc Edition and boosts a larger MontBlanc cut diamond of about 0.06 carats.

I really love the MontBlanc Diamond!
